About this show:
Lo-Fi Cinema

DIY film by Shaun Huston.

I am on the geography and film studies faculty at Western Oregon University. I began working with digital video to get a different perspective on the kinds of issues I often address in my writing and teaching (composing for the film frame, the significance of different camera angles, etc.). I've also begun to use moving images to explore geographic themes, particularly ones related to place and landscape. My primary camera is a Panasonic DVX100A. I edit in Final Cut Express HD and Final Cut Pro. Some of my work is just me and my camera, and some is the result of collaborations with friends and colleagues.

I am fortunate to have a number of friends and colleagues, and other interested individuals locally in the mid-Willamette Valley (Oregon, USA), who are willing and able to collaborate with me on different projects. See credits on individual videos for specific information.
